Who We Are

A coalition of Rotary clubs in District 7070 working together to combat climate change through education, reforestation, and policy engagement.

Mission Statement

Help mitigating climate change by acting in the Schools, Communities and assisting Local, Provincial and Federal decision making authorities to implement related policies.

History

A group of concerned Rotarians in the District of 7070 got together in early 2023 to start:

  • Campaign of awareness on Climate Change (Global Warming).
  • Inform the Rotarians, their families and public at large of the disasters created by the Climate Change.
  • Show case Environmental projects of the Rotary Clubs in the District.
  • Assist clubs to start their own Climate Change projects.
  • Create a forum to discuss the Climate Change projects and related information.

What We Do

Systemic climate action through education, reforestation, and community engagement.

Tree Planting by Students

17 years of student tree planting at Oak Ridges Moraine. 182 students annually plant 350+ trees, featuring Canadian Raptor Conservancy presentations on wildlife habitat regeneration.

Mini-Forest Projects

Collaborative project with 9 Rotary clubs. $14,900 District Grant approved for creating dense, fast-growing native forests in Uxbridge.

Earth Week Activities

Multi-day environmental events including park cleanups, educational exhibits at David Dunlap Observatory, and District Environmental Symposiums.

Tree Seedling Distribution

Providing tree seedlings to graduating high school students and festival attendees, encouraging environmental stewardship at home.

Educational Programs

Expert presentations on climate science, conservation, and solutions. Monthly RMCC newsletter sharing climate facts and project updates.

🏛️

Policy Engagement

Meetings with federal ministers on climate policy. Partnering with municipalities on environmental initiatives and emergency preparedness.
